Welcome to Our Nursery
Choosing the right start for your child is one of the most important decisions a parent can make.
Based in Buckingham, and offering 'Outstanding' provision, we recognise that each child is special, with unique talents, qualities, needs and ambitions. Your child deserves a school which recognises this uniqueness and adapts it teaching to suit their individual needs.
We provide our children with a safe and caring learning environment in which they can flourish. We follow the Foundation Stage Curriculum and also nurture and develop the necessary values, talents and skills which will provide a platform for future success.
Our children are happy, inquisitive and challenged. They are eager to learn and participate in the varied activities that we have to offer both inside and out in our beautiful setting.
We take full advantage of the school’s facilities, building and teachers. Children visit the main school on a regular basis and are taught by specialist teachers at least three times a week for PE, music and Spanish. In doing this, children are fully prepared for the next stage of their educational journey, enabling a smooth and successful transition into Bourton Meadow Academy.
Education for 3 and 4 Year-olds
The government funds pre-school nursery education for 15 hours a week. We also accept children whose parents are able to claim the new 30 hour per week funding. In line with government guidance, we offer a 6-hour funded session in one block from 8:30pm - 2:30pm.
However, this funding can be used in a combination of ways for any sessions that take place between the funded hours of 8:30am - 2:30pm:
- All mornings.
- All afternoons.
- A mixture of afternoons and mornings.
To provide nursery children with the option of remaining in the nursery until the end of the school day (3:30pm), we also offer an enrichment session from 2:30pm - 3:30pm. This session will be continuation of the afternoon nursery session to allow parents to continue using the service to 3:30pm, if they wish. However, this session falls outside of the funded hours and is chargeable. (Prices shown below)
For children attending an afternoon session, there is an option to include a hot lunch at an additional cost of £2.00, or you are welcome to bring your own packed lunch.
Along with the education sessions, parents may also purchase additional sessions including wraparound sessions, such as breakfast club and after-school club (Activ8tors). This means that the nursery can provide children with full-time education and care from 7.30am until 6.00pm in the evening (5:30pm on Fridays).
Children can start with us the day they turn three.
